Alan Is 'hookah-smoking Caterpillar'

Alan Rickman has joined the already fabulous cast of Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland!” Rickman will play the role of the hookah-smoking Caterpillar. Alice does not like the Caterpillar when they first meet, because he does not immediately talk to her and when he does, it is usually in short, rather rude sentences, or difficult questions. Alice In Wonderland, which director Burton is realising using a combination of live action and performance-capture technology, is scheduled for release in 2010.

Danny Elfman Scoring Burton's Alice in Wonderland

After a temporary break with the musical Sweeney Todd, Danny Elfman and Tim Burton will work together again on Alice in Wonderland. Elfman confirmed his involvement on Alice in Wonderland during a panel at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood. According to Filmonic Danny Elfman is also set to be composing the score for The Wolfman. Set in Victorian England and has a cast consisting of Benicio del Toro, Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving and Anthony Hopkins. From the Comic Con footage that has now been removed from the face of the internet, the movie looks dark and Gothic, so we can expect that sort of tone with the music. I think in a movie like The Wolfman the music is vital, as it helps create the atmosphere. We can’t have the Wolfman ripping people to shreds with a merry tune in the background. It has to be dark and vicious!
